Codemasters Confirmed Cricket Title in 2010

Few days back CricketGaming posted that Codemasters' next cricket title will be in-house. Codemasters have confirmed their cricket title for year 2010 through MCV UK. It can be assumed that their title may be in-house as Transmission Games doesn't exist any more but it is still not confirmed as few staff of Transmission Games have opened a new studio named Trickstar Games. This is what Codemasters' UK General Manager said:

“Following last year’s success of Ashes 2009, we are not resting on our cricketing laurels,"

"We’ll soon be talking about the evolution of our cricket series, which will make a triumphant return later this year.



CricketGaming will be bringing you more official updates regarding this upcoming cricket game from Codemasters.

Since IPL is started hence from our forum, Arjind has done a brilliant job in making a IPL patch for Ashes Cricket 2009. The IPL patch contains updated IPL 2010 roster with new kits and graphics which is perfect to enrich the thrill of Indian Premier League.

Ashes Cricket 2010/11 May be In-house

Codemasters' financial situation not much stable even after an investment from undisclosed investor. This was the reason that made Codies cancel their title Heist as they wanted to avoid another flop after Damnation. According to a news articles at Gamasutra, Codemasters will be concentrating on their hit titles Ashes Cricket and Fomula 1 along with their in-house development.

The another reason for the in-house development of Ashes Cricket 2010/11 could be the termination of Transmission Games. This is what Codemasters said regarding their titles:

"Codemasters is focusing its future portfolio on high quality titles that will, in the majority, be developed and produced by our internal studios," the spokesperson added.

Though the news is quite old but it is a another good sign for Ashes Cricket 2010/11 after Jamie Firth's winning statement to CricketGaming.

Jamie Firth Positive for Next Ashes Cricket Game

As Ashes Cricket 2009 won the "Best Cricket Game" title in Cricket Gaming Awards 2010, Jamie Firth, the producer of Ashes Cricket 2009 seems to be really positive and happy. Here is what he said to CricketGaming:

"We are delighted that Ashes Cricket 2009 has been selected as the Best Cricket Game in the Cricket Gaming Awards. The fact that the awards are voted for by the fans makes it especially pleasing."

"So many people worked so hard to get the Ashes games out there, and this award is testament to our vision: We are just all really pleased to extend Codemasters' association with a great sport and an absolutely fantastic series."

"Thank you to everyone that voted for us, and rest assured we're still in the hunt for the "Holy Bail" with you all..."


His comments may be a good sign for a next Ashes cricket game.

No patch for Ashes Cricket 2009

Codemasters have officially confirmed that there will be no patch for Ashes Cricket 2009. There was a lot of speculation about the patch after the BETA was released by Transmission Games. This was the statement released by the community manager of Codemasters:
"Whilst the PC patch was Beta, and the console patch was nearing completion, it was unfinished and hence un-releasable when complexities arose at the developer, which I’m sure you are all aware of."

"We have exerted every effort to complete this work but given the situation this has become undoable, and as such plans for a patch have now unfortunately had to be cancelled.
"

It's really sad for the fans of Ashes Cricket but unfortunately, they will have to play the game using the BETA patches.

PC Cricket fans can now experience the tension, drama and atmosphere of the nPower Ashes Test series, as today sees the launch of Ashes Cricket 2009 playable demo for PC.
